National Chemistry Week 2022
The New York ACS celebrated National Chemistry Week 2022 with our partners at The New York Hall of Science.  This year's theme of 'Fabulous Fibers: The Chemistry of Fabrics' was highlighted throughout the events.  The festivities began with virtual kickoff on October 16, 2022 which was tied to the grand public reopening of New York Hall of Science. This kick-off on Zoom and Facebook Live included remarks by dignitaries from the NYACS and NYSCI followed by the keynote address "3000 Years of Chemistry in Our Clothes" by Prof. Margaret Frey of Cornell University.  Watch the YouTube video here.

The following Saturday, New York ACS hosted a live in-person celebration at the NYSCI. Local colleges/universities/companies offered hands-on chemistry demonstrations to attendees.  In addition, the New York ACS sponsored an illustrated poem contest with the winners being submitted to national competition.
